For sale through AB 4x4s Cleveland is a rare opportunity to acquire a vintage Land Rover at a very reasonable price, the reason for this is it need the new loom finishing off. The previous owner started it but not completed so an easy job for the budding enthusiast.
It’s a 1969 Series 2a that has been rebuilt on a new galvanised chassis, a must for one of these. I believe it to be military with the unusual aluminium wolf door tops, Nato green paint and military rear sockets. Owned by an elderly gentleman for around 15 years he has added many upgrades to include:
- New radiator this year
- New battery
- New rear tub crossmembers around 5 years ago
- Recent galvanised front bumper
- New exhaust
- New rear crankshaft oil seal
- New lights all round
- New Light bowls
- New Autosparks wiring loom (needs completing)
- Recent leaf springs
So when this was rebuilt a Series 3 bulkhead and wings were added. However the radiator panel is the original one so has the holes for the lights. One could either add a Series 3 radiator panel which we have or change the wings to Series 2 ones. There is a massive folder of receipts for thousands of pounds which is great to have. All the money has been spent with now just a weekends work to complete.
Engine runs sweet as a nut and gearbox changes well. Been regularly serviced throughout his ownership.
All in all a fantastic opportunity to get on the vintage Land Rover ladder.
