For sale through AB4x4s and on behalf of a family member is this totally rebuilt Land Rover Defender 90 300 Tdi, rebuilt on a new galvanised chassis and new puma bulkhead.

MOT till 06/ 12/ 2024.

So the story goes I bought this last year with the view to giving it to my son as. After all the work I did on it and to a huge spec we could not find him a sensible insurance quote. So with a heavy heart we have bought him a very very small and seriously underpowered car that he can afford to insure.

V5 is in my sons name with a large folder of receipts.

So down to spec. When this came in it had received a full nut and bolt rebuild on a new galvanised chassis, this is evident with everything new looking underneath. We set about completing it to the best standard, this consisted of firstly replacing the smoky engine with a very low mileage disco 1 300tdi unit. We changed the timing belt and many other parts to create a super reliable vehicle.
We added new brakes all round but really that was it underneath as it was all new. For longevity it is fully polybushed which is a super addition. Has 2 new swivels to the front and all bearings and seals.

We then added 4 x brand new sawtooth alloys with 4 x new Goodyear Wrangler tyres at a cost of £1500. I wanted it to be as safe as possible being an over protective dad. Inside needed completion so i went to town on it but still a little to do which will be completed for the new owner. I removed the roof and lined the inside with 4 way stretch. I also lined the sides and inner arches making it a really unusually nice place to be. We can add 2 x new bench seats and lap belts for the new owner if requested.
To the front 1 sent the 2 seats off to get recovered in a Heritage style. They look awesome and like new. In the centre there is a new cubby box for your belongings and a double cup holder. We added 2 x new inertia seatbelts again for safety.

We fitted a deluxe front carpet set which feels more like a car than a dirty old Landy.
Moving on to the dash this is a Puma dash fitted to the Puma bulkhead. It’s much more up to date and modern. We are adding a new bluetooth stereo and speakers for the new keeper.

On the outside, finished in Keswick green it was recently painted by the previous owner to a really great standard. This was over a year ago so don’t expect it to be perfect. To the front we added a new galvanised bumper with new rubber end caps fitted with stainless bolts. We also added a new front grille upgrade to make it look more modern. Complimented by new led lights all round it looks so much better also being much more reliable than the cheap original ones. Headlights were expensive led ones and will really light the road ahead.

There are new number plates front and back. Has a rustproof fibreglass Puma bonnet finished in Gloss black as is the roof. It really breaks up the colour nicely.

So what’s left to say? We are about a week away from completion with only a few loose ends to tie up. We really are gutted that after talking about it for the last 10 years he won’t be able to have a Landy yet!

It is finished to a super high standard and should prove uber reliable with no ecu to go wrong. Being a new build there should be very little maintenance in the coming years. A real chance to buy a “keeper” at a reasonable price.
