1967 Land Rover Series 2a 200Tdi Soft Top 7 seater – SOLD

Only 6 owners from new, Tax and MOT exempt.

We are selling this for a local chap who has owned it for the last 5 years. During this time he did a substantial road trip to Nice with no issues.

This vehicle was rebuilt in 2007 and still really solid having been regularly wax oiled.

Engine is a 200Tdi bought in 2003 and fitted by the renowned Glencoyne engineering. This was a reconditioned engine with only 17k on the clock. Since fitting it will have covered around 45k miles which is nothing for one of these. In fact it runs sweetly, gives better MPGs and is so much faster than the standard 2. 25 unit. We have receipts for the rebuild and also the timing belt done only 8k miles ago.

This is cooled by a quality Kenlowe fan.

Gearbox is I believe the original 2a unit that changes up and down without issue. I believe this may have had work done at time of rebuild.

Bulkhead is not the usual rot box having been restored in 2007 and waxoiled. This appears rot free and really solid, I would have estimated it was only a few years old.

Chassis has been regularly wax oiled and looked after. It appears solid from our quick inspection. For the new owner we can provide a 5 hour check that pinpoints any issues that may need addressing. Many people do this for peace of mind plus it gives you a better idea of order and priority of work, if any.

Sitting on new parabolic springs and extended Procomp shocks really helps the smoothness of the ride.

The 200Tdi is married up with a Steve Parker exhaust. Has Fairey freewheeling hubs for improved economy. A new fuel tank was recently fitted.

Bodywork is simply delightful sporting a nice original patina, exactly how one should look. Has a very recent Exmoor Trim hood and sticks making this ideal for those sunny days yet still very capable in the winter months. To the rear there are original Land Rover mud flaps fitted. Also, a tow bar plate is present but no tow bar, we can however add one if required.

Inside is a really nice place to be. To the front there are 3 as new elephant hide Exmoor Trim seats. For safety there is also an Exmoor Trim seatbelt bar making it possible to mount 3 point inertia belts, all recent additions.

There is a Smiths heater which the owner removed and dismantled but upon refitting it didn’t work. Probably a wire or something simple. On the floor there are heavy duty mats. This also has an expensive heated windscreen, although we haven’t tested it yet.
