Land Rover Series 2a – SOLD

For sale through AB 4x4s Cleveland we are delighted to present “Betty”, a delightful Land Rover Series 2a rebuilt on a galvanised chassis with a fantastic up to date spec.
MOT is valid till 29th March 2024. This passed and has no advisories having had any work completed at the MOT garage. This is tax and MOT exempt but nice to know it has always been well maintained.

So story goes “Betty” has been in the family for 10 years, used daily for trips to the garden centre and days out. Unfortunately it is up for sale with a heavy heart due to it not being suitable any more.

Betty was rebuilt around 10 years ago by an engineer who set about making it an every day car but without spoiling its integrity.

He fitted a galvanised chassis to prevent any future maintenance. At this time he fitted a super 300tdi engine, one of the best for reliability and economy. This has just been serviced. We will however go through it to make sure all is good for its new owner.

He then fitted a 5 speed gearbox making it keep up with the traffic therefore seriously usable.

He fitted power steering making it nice and light, unlike the heavy steering we are used to.

To add to this amazing spec he fitted disc brakes all round with a brake servo. Now you don’t have to pull that face when you are heading towards the rear of the car in front!

Comes with a good folder of receipts for thousands and previous MOTs.

There is potential for the new owner to do a full body restoration in their favourite colour. It is however just how an old Landy should look and would make a fantastic work horse or tow vehicle.
