The video, which was posted by an official Land Rover social media channel in December last year, shows a 1972 Series III pulling a HGV along in snowy and rough conditions.
The lorry had managed to get itself stuck in the snow and had to be rescued by the classic British 4x4, with the Series III appearing to tug the DAF HGV with ease. Despite being almost half a century old, the Landy proved that it is still up to the task!
The description of the video from the Twitter account read:
“Daniel Morgan and his 1972 Series III saving a lorry in distress. Incredible capability! Send us your Land Rover snow stories #aboveandbeyond”
The Land Rover Series III, which is now considered to be an archetypal classic British 4x4, was manufactured between 1971 and 1985. The range proved to be popular, and as such, it is the most commonly found Series Land Rover, with 440,000 being built during its 14-year run.
While we are on the subject of the Series III, we are pleased to announce that we have just added a Land Rover Series III to our collection today!
Our 1983 Series III is presented with a fully-serviced 2.25 litre petrol engine, the engine of choice for any true Landy enthusiast! You can find out more about our Series III, and ask us any questions that you may have about it, by clicking here.
