For sale through AB 4x4s Cleveland Ltd is this Land Rover Defender 110 (my personal vehicle) that we have nearly completed a full renovation on. What attracted me to this car when I purchased it around 2 years ago was the recent galvanised chassis, brand new bulkhead plus the all-important bomb proof original 200 TDI engine. This to me was the best pedigree to have for what I was to do to in the following months. I removed the roof and removed all steel cappings that always let these Land Rovers down. I bought new ones then had them shot blasted and galvanised for longevity. I removed the second row pillars and replaced them for new as these always rust badly. Then I relined the rear with thin galvanised sheet to give it a new appearance. Following this it was time to assess the doors. Well, we all know how defender doors like to rot so I removed both drivers and second row doors and bought brand new ones at great expense. I didn't want to have rusting issues again so I bought fiberglass ones, which look superb. The rear door was also removed and a brand new glazed door was fitted. New hinges and stainless steel fasteners were also added during this stage. Next job was to send it to the professionals for a comprehensive body prep and re-spray in Corris grey (metallic) with a black roof and bonnet to match the latest Defender colour scheme before it stopped production. As can be seen it is truly stunning with its colour coded shot blasted and painted wheels in gloss black. Tyres are very recent as are the brakes and many other parts. We are now in the process of fitting all new door furniture to include door handles and door cards. Inside we will fit new headlining, full Exmoor trim carpet set then new leather front and passenger seats. In the rear we will fit 2 Exmoor trim bench seats with seat belts to make this a 9 seater. New sliding side windows are being added plus new alpine window seals. To the front we have fitted a new KBX grill and headlight surround, new galvanised bumper, powder coated galvanised number plate bracket and new number plate. We used stainless steel screws to fit these and lights etc As seen in the pictures we are nearing completion and at this stage we can customize the interior to suit.
This Land Rover will look as good as new on completion without the worry of rusting parts in the future. A real prototype that as well as looking standard and up to date should easily outlast any modern day car. Delivery can be arranged.
